Hire Purchase – the most simple & straight forward agreement is where you pay fixed monthly payments in order to spread the cost of purchasing a car over a number of years. The benefits of this agreement are that the deposits are flexible whilst having fixed rates and payments make budgeting a whole lot easier.
Personal Contract Purchase – PCP is similar to Lease Purchase in that the monthly payments are offer by a final residual, the difference being that the final payment is optional. At the beginning of the agreement the residual payment is set by the finance company but at the end of the agreement you have 3 options; simply hand the car back (certain conditions apply), part exchange it for another car or re-finance.
