HEUER reference 980.023L 1000m Deep Dive watch powered by a Heuer 2.85 quartz movement. This was Heuer’s first and only PROFESSIONAL 1000m rated dive watch after the Monin 844. It features a one-directional acrylic bezel and offset screw down crown.It is unpolished and original. Stunning patina, almost NOS. Impossible to repeat. A real classic. Great part of any collection.

These examples are particularly rare and collectible by vintage watch collectors as they use the same movement, VL 72 movement used in the Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman”.

Powered by the new generation of in-house automatic Cartier movements (cal.1904-PS MC), fitted to a waterproof rubber strap with steel Cartier pin buckle, and water resistant to 300m. Complete with its original Cartier box and unstamped Cartier certificate.
The watch was supplied in the UK and actually given as a present to one of my customers in 2016, who at the point was working for Cartier. I can’t mention names, but is well know in the watch world.
Presented in exceptional original condition, unpolished.

The Chronomaster line of watches was first unveiled at the 1994 Basel Watch Fair and was the first time Zenith used El Primero movement’s that were carefully regulated to within COSC standards, ensuring superb timekeeping.
It’s no secret the El Primero is a legendary movement. There is debate over whether the El Primero movement is truly the first automatic chronograph movement, but regardless it has been in use for over 60 years now (long after its competitors faded away) and is still regarded as one of the highest quality movements, even in modern terms. The list of brands that have used it in their own watches says it all: Rolex (in their Daytona watches between 1989-2000), Ebel, Dunhill, DuBois, TAG Heuer and Daniel Roth.

While the Speedmaster was originally introduced in 1957 as a racing watch, it wasn’t until 1969 when the hand-wound chronograph accompanied the crew of Apollo 11 onto the surface of the Moon that it received the legendary status that it holds today. Two known Speedmaster references were worn by the crew of Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin wore a 105.012, while Michael Collins wore the later 145.012. One of the closest modern references to either of these models is this watch right here, the ref. 3592.50.00.
Introduced in 1989, the then-new Moonwatch was effectively identical to the watch worn by the Apollo 11 crew, differentiated foremost in its use of sapphire case back used to showcase the manually-wound caliber 863 within, gaining the nickname “De Luxe” for its luxurious mechanical exhibition. Outside of its movement and caseback, almost all other aesthetic details carried over, notably including the shatterproof hesalite crystal, black dial with white accents, combination of 30-minute, 12-hour, and small seconds sub-dials, and the 42mm case in stainless steel with matching bracelet.
As the ref. 3592.50.00 was produced during a transitional period for OMEGA from the late ’80s to mid-1990s, some variation exists between earlier and later produced versions of the watch. Notably, earlier produced editions opt for patina-prone tritium rather than Luminova for their luminescent materials. As well, very early editions are often numbered and engraved with “Apollo XI,” while later versions drop the numbering but maintain the engraving, while even later editions dropped both.

This fine men’s chronographic wristwatch provides an energetic aesthetic for any adventurous watch enthusiast. The dial is an exuberant shade of yellow, with black accents. It features three two-tone sunken sub-dials, and date window at the 3 o’clock. The sub-dials layout on the dial delivers a 30 minute counter at the 12 o’clock, 12 hour counter at the 6 o’clock, 60 seconds counter at the 9 o’clock. This timepiece boasts a Swiss made, self winding automatic movement, of caliber 1152, and water resistance to 50m. It features a stainless steel engraved Tachymetre bezel and sapphire crystal. The case is back stamped with the Omega Hippocampus seahorse logo. The 3511.12 provides a diameter of 39mm, and comes on a stainless steel. Omega bracelet with an Omega deployant buckle bracelet.

When it was launched in the late 1980s, the ref. 16234 was best known as Rolex’s next-generation fluted gold bezel Datejust option. Differing from the more casual smooth bezel variation, the reference presented a watch that was just a touch more elegant in everyday wear, and at its core featured that signature Rolex cool in its highly wearable 36mm Oyster case and ever-versatile and diverse dial options.
The ref. 16234 was among the first five-digit offerings within the Datejust family, and importantly one of the first to also use a sapphire crystal. First offered in the late 1980s until the mid-2000s, the 16234 made a number of notable improvements to the design family, including featuring the brand’s patented “jumping date,” which flipped over instantaneously at midnight rather than over the course of the last few hours, as was the case with previous Datejust iterations. Additionally, within the five-digit era, references starting with 162XX (like this one) can all be found with the newer caliber 3135, whereas 160XX references utilize the earlier caliber 3035 – a small detail to pay attention to.
As it was offered from the late ’80s to the mid-2000s, the ref. 16234 Datejust spans the switch at the Crown from tritium luminous material to LumiNova.
