The new generation of Rolex Explorer watches consists of the two-tone ref. 124273 and the all-stainless steel reference 124270. As is customary for the collection, both models are exclusively fitted with black dials, but while the previous generation of the Explorer featured a 39mm case, the new generation returns to the original size. A case diameter of 36mm is hardly something new for Rolex, but this change suddenly makes the recently-discontinued reference 214270 a significantly more compelling purchase from an investment perspective.
As it currently stands, the reference 214270 is the only Rolex Explorer model to feature a 39mm case. Since its introduction, the Explorer has historically been a 36mm watch and while there are some 34mm variants, the recently discontinued ref. 214270 is the only example to ever feature a larger case. Many collectors feel that 39mm is somewhat of a sweet spot when it comes to size, and the larger case of the now-discontinued Explorer 214270 makes it unique and instantly recognizable from all other Rolex Explorer watches.

The Rolex Submariner 16610 was released in 1988 and was powered by the brands longest serving movement, the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 with date located at the 3 o’clock position. The watch was originally fitted with black glossy dials with T25 tritium hour markers and hands. Tritium dials were eventually phased out in the late 90’s with watches being fitted with “SWISS” only dials in 1999. “SWISS MADE” dials were fitted from 2000 onward. These later dials featured Super-LumiNova filled hour marker and hands. Early Rolex Submariner 16610’s were fitted with the 93150 oyster bracelet with folding clasp. From 2000 the 93250 oyster bracelet was fitted to the Rolex Submariner 16610. The Rolex Submariner 16610 originally featured lug holes but there were deleted in 2003. Late examples of the Rolex Submariner 16610, from 2008, also feature the engraved inner rehaut displaying the serial number at the 6 o’clock position.

In collaboration with Aston Martin in 2003 to celebrate the British sports car 90th anniversary and the release of the Vanquish S model, Jaeger-LeCoultre had introduced a series of wristwatches named “Amvox”. A collection that would align with Aston Martin’s highest levels of inventiveness, skill and determination.
The present lot is an Amvox 1 R-Alarm, which features 260 individual parts and a suspended gong to create a strong acoustic experience when the alarm function is initiated. With a contemporary design appearance that is inspired by Aston Martin Cars, the present watch in a limited number of 500 pieces is truly fascinating piece of art.

24-Jewel 552 Automatic “non U.S” movement , which is superior to the later 17-jewel movement produced for the U.S market.
Fab Suisse Acier Inoxydable 41mm steel case.
Screw-on steel caseback engraved with Seamaster Hippocampus, Omega logo and “Certified High Pressure Waterproof”.
Screw-down crown with Omega logo (screw-down crowns were first introduced in 1968).
Bakelite bezel with medium font, slope serif 1, asymetric curly 3, flat top 4, closed loop 5
Triple-layer Hesalite crystal with Omega logo engraved at centre.
Polished rehaut.
“Small Triangle” with white numbers dial.
Sword hands with Spear Seconds hand with short tip.The overall condition of the watch is excellent for what is a 50+ year old watch. There are some light marks to the case, but no dings, dents or deep scratches. The watch does not look to have been polished much (if at all) during its life with all case-back engravings still deep and clear. The Bakelite bezel insert is also in very good condition. Most examples would now have cracked through but there are no signs of that on this watch. Of course, the stand out feature of this watch is the stunning patina of the Tritium dial and hands that have aged to a very even and matching rich mustard colour most coveted by collectors, with little to none of the blackening and staining that is often found on vintage Seamaster 300’s. All in all, a truly stunning example of one of the most iconic Divers watches ever produced, that can be worn and enjoyed whilst also being a sound investment, as it continues to appreciate in value.

Paying tribute to the original and first Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso launched in 1931, the JLC Reverso Tribute Small Seconds in stainless steel with burgundy red dial is one of the sexiest watches out there and for sure one of our favorites. In a hue that could also be described as ‘ox-blood’ color, the watch features an iconic Casa Fagliano matching red strap. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was originally launched in 1931 as a convenient watch for polo players. The purpose of the Reverso was to be able to maintain the front of the watch protected during a polo match by virtue of swiveling and exposing a solid case back on the front. A perfect example of the Art Deco movement, the JLC Reverso is also one of the most iconic timepieces of all time.
