A beautifully Omega Seamaster 300 165.024 with a 26…….. serial number dating it to early 1968.

The specification of the watch is as follows:

24-Jewel 552 Automatic “non U.S” movement , which is superior to the later 17-jewel movement produced for the U.S market.
Fab Suisse Acier Inoxydable 41mm steel case.
Screw-on steel caseback engraved with Seamaster Hippocampus, Omega logo and “Certified High Pressure Waterproof”.
Screw-down crown with Omega logo (screw-down crowns were first introduced in 1968).
Bakelite bezel with medium font, slope serif 1, asymetric curly 3, flat top 4, closed loop 5
Triple-layer Hesalite crystal with Omega logo engraved at centre.
Polished rehaut.
“Small Triangle” with white numbers dial.
Sword hands with Spear Seconds hand with short tip.

The overall condition of the watch is excellent for what is a 50+ year old watch. There are some light marks to the case, but no dings, dents or deep scratches. The watch does not look to have been polished much (if at all) during its life with all case-back engravings still deep and clear. The Bakelite bezel insert is also in very good condition. Most examples would now have cracked through but there are no signs of that on this watch. Of course, the stand out feature of this watch is the stunning patina of the Tritium dial and hands that have aged to a very even and matching rich mustard colour most coveted by collectors, with little to none of the blackening and staining that is often found on vintage Seamaster 300’s. All in all, a truly stunning example of one of the most iconic Divers watches ever produced, that can be worn and enjoyed whilst also being a sound investment, as it continues to appreciate in value.
