The Carrera ref. 1153 was part of the trio of automatic chronographs Heuer debuted in 1969 that housed the new caliber 11, one of the world’s first automatic chronograph movements. The other watches included the Autavia ref. 1163 and the Monaco ref. 1133. Heuer was part of a coalition of brands – including Breitling, Dubois-Dépraz, and Hamilton-Buren – that helped bring one of the earliest automatic chronographs to market. Unlike the Monaco, which was a completely new watch for Heuer when it was introduced in 1969, the Carrera ref. 1153 was intended to be an evolution of the original Carrera, introduced in 1963.

Following the sale of the Rayville-Blancpain name to Jacques Piguet and Jean Claude Biver in 1983, Blancpain began a journey from near-bankruptcy to acting as one of the main catalysts that saved Swiss watchmaking. Key to this success was Blancpain’s steadfast dedication to mechanical watches with thin complicated movements, classical designs, and extremely luxurious craftsmanship. As such, Blancpain’s elegant dress watches became some of the most popular on the market and the brand continued to enjoy incredible growth. As the brand’s way to celebrate Jehan-Jacques Blancpain’s birthday, the brand’s original founder, the Jubilee Limited Edition Ultra Slim was launched in 1993 as a limited edition collection of 300 pieces. Featuring a 34mm 18kt white gold case built using the same elegant design language as most of Blancpain’s popular offerings, the Jubilee Limited Edition Ultra Slim’s thin profile, stepped bezel and hefty 18kt white gold case ensured it was a delight to wear. Manually-wound through its cal. 64-1 movement, the ref. 7001 is the culmination of Blancpain’s traditionalist watchmaking ideologies. As such, it features a simple white dial whose only reference to its commemorative status is the “1693-1993” inscription found in its subseconds dial at 6 o’clock.

The IWC Aquatimer 3536 was introduced in 1998 as the dive watch of the sporty GST collection. It marked the return of the Aquatimer name, which IWC had first used for its divers watches in the late sixties. The 3536 featured a case of 42mm in either titanium or stainless steel with an external revolving bezel. It is paired with an integrated bracelet or an optional velcro strap, although rubber straps of the later generation also fit. Reference IW3536-01 is done in full titanium.

1994, the introduction of the Mark XII Ref. 3241 heralded a new age for the iconic pilot’s watch. Fortunately, rather than losing their original charm, they returned looking cooler than ever. The Mark XII was the start of a simple yet perfect mechanical watch with a timeless design code. Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal replaced previously used plexiglass, while the simple calibre 89 was switched up for the automatic calibre 889/2 with date from Jaeger-LeCoultre.

While the Speedmaster was originally introduced in 1957 as a racing watch, it wasn’t until 1969 when the hand-wound chronograph accompanied the crew of Apollo 11 onto the surface of the Moon that it received the legendary status that it holds today. Two known Speedmaster references were worn by the crew of Apollo 11, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin wore a 105.012, while Michael Collins wore the later 145.012. One of the closest modern references to either of these models is this watch right here, the ref. 3592.50.00.
Introduced in 1989, the then-new Moonwatch was effectively identical to the watch worn by the Apollo 11 crew, differentiated foremost in its use of sapphire case back used to showcase the manually-wound caliber 863 within, gaining the nickname “De Luxe” for its luxurious mechanical exhibition. Outside of its movement and caseback, almost all other aesthetic details carried over, notably including the shatterproof hesalite crystal, black dial with white accents, combination of 30-minute, 12-hour, and small seconds sub-dials, and the 42mm case in stainless steel with matching bracelet.
As the ref. 3592.50.00 was produced during a transitional period for OMEGA from the late ’80s to mid-1990s, some variation exists between earlier and later produced versions of the watch. Notably, earlier produced editions opt for patina-prone tritium rather than Luminova for their luminescent materials. As well, very early editions are often numbered and engraved with “Apollo XI,” while later versions drop the numbering but maintain the engraving, while even later editions dropped both.

This Cartier Calibre de Diver is in perfect condition. Featuring a black DLC divers bezel, this 42mm stainless steel model sports a black luminous dial and hands. Powered by the new generation of in-house automatic Cartier movements (cal.1904-PS MC), fitted to a waterproof rubber strap with steel Cartier pin buckle, and water resistant to 300m. Complete with its original Cartier box and unstamped Cartier certificate.
The watch was supplied in the UK and actually given as a present to one of my customers in 2016, who at the point was working for Cartier. I can’t mention names, but is well know in the watch world.
Presented in exceptional original condition, unpolished.

Only 1000 pieces made. Few remaining, especially in stunning original condition like this example.
This example comes with it’s original box and warranty booklet/manual. Warranty is unstamped and empty.
These examples are particularly rare and collectible by vintage watch collectors as they use the same movement, VL 72 movement used in the Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman”.
