Model:
The Omega Speedmaster is one of the most iconic chronograph models ever made. Famously, it was a Speedmaster Professional that Buzz Aldrin wore when he stepped onto the moon in 1969. The flat black bezel is calibrated for tachymeter and the steel case has flaring sides with combinations of polished and satin finishes. The stainless steel bracelet is detachable and this watch may be worn with a strap if preferred. Named the ‘Reduced’ Speedmaster this model has a slightly smaller case diameter of 39mm rather than the 42mm diameter of the standard Speedmaster, it is also an automatic rather than manually wound version of the Speedmaster family.

The Omega Speedmaster Racing watches have been around for many years. In fact, they celebrated their 60th anniversary for the collection in 2017. It is no surprise that there is a reverse panda dial in the collection after being around for so long.
The Speedmaster features textured sub dials that add to the overall look of the reverse panda dial, really catching one’s eye. What also stands out in this model is the black bezel, which creates even more contrast with the white sub dials and silver hands.
This model is very sleek and polished; no wonder it is one of our favourites.

The version pictured however was available not a limited edition. It features a stainless steel, engraved bezel and so-called ‘broad arrow’ hands to mimic the look of the original CK 2915 of 1957. Its caseback does feature the seahorse medallion, yet does not feature any additional engraving.
Since the 60th Anniversary of the Speedmaster in 2017, the ‘Replica 57’ is also known as the ‘Relaunch’, avoiding the word ‘Replica’ in the name.
