Bremont Military U-2 automatic model featuring hardened stainless steel case model with black dial and inner rotating bezel.
Bremont U-2, which has an anti-shock rubberized movement mount and has been developed with added functionality through testing the watch to 80,000 feet and -40 degrees C in the laboratory and on missions. The watch was designed and tested extensively by the elite U-2 Spy Plane Squadron based at Beale, CA.

Moreover, it’s made of a single block of cerachrom, using a patented process that makes it the first watch to feature ceramic components in multiple colours. The stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master ref. 16700 made its debut in 1988 to replace the preceding GMT-Master 16750. While the GMT-Master ref. 16700 retained its familiar 40mm Oyster case size and aluminum bezel, the watch was now fitted with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal on top of the dial rather than an acrylic one. Furthermore, the hour markers on the black dial now included white gold surrounds and the movement inside the watch was the updated Caliber 3175 (which functioned identically to the previous Caliber 3075) with the practical quickset date feature. Like all GMT-Master models, the hands and indexes on the ref. 16700 are coated in luminescence for legibility in the dark. Depending on its exact manufacturing year, the GMT-Master 16700 can either have tritium lume (until about 1997) characterized by the “Swiss T<25” text below 6 o’clock or Luminova lume (starting around 1998) characterized by the “Swiss” text below 6 0’clock. Rolex offered the GMT-Master 16700 with either a blue and red “Pepsi” style bezel or a solid black one, as well as the choice between an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. The contrasting color combination of a GMT-Master bezel is not just for aesthetic purposes but it is also a way to differentiate the day/night hours on the bezel. In the case of the Pepsi bezel shown here, the red section is for the daytime hours while the blue portion houses the nighttime hours. 12 MONTHS WARRANTY SUPPLIED. Launched in 1988 as the next generation of the professional-grade Rolex Sea-Dweller, the ref. 16600’s production run spanned twenty years, along the way solidifying itself as a bona fide classic in the history of the famed Crown.
Being one of the first watches from Rolex to use 904L steel in its construction, today known as Oystersteel, the 16600 in its 40mm by 14.5mm Oyster case features a wonderful weightiness and signature, action-ready sturdiness which has defined the Sea-Dweller collection from its 1967 origins. A unidirectional, black aluminum-insert bezel adds to the watch’s professional-grade credentials, as does a subtle helium escape valve opposite the screw-down crown.
On the dial, a highly-legible dial produced in Rolex’s distinct diver configuration is showcased, complete with a 3 o’clock date window, lume-filled hour markers and hands, and a deep black dial contrasting to it all. Worth noting is the 16600, like most Sea-Dwellers, does not feature a cyclops magnifier over the date, differentiating it from the rest of the Rolex’s catalog collection as a distinct signature for the collection.
Inside, the 16600 features the Rolex caliber 3135, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve, an incredibly reliable, chronometer-grade movement used extensively by the brand.. The caliber is protected via a solid case back that helps ensure a water resistance to 1,220 meters (4,000 feet), with the entire watch secured to the wrist via a 904L steel Oyster bracelet with a matching safety clasp to prevent accidental opening.

When it was launched in the late 1980s, the ref. 16234 was best known as Rolex’s next-generation fluted gold bezel Datejust option. Differing from the more casual smooth bezel variation, the reference presented a watch that was just a touch more elegant in everyday wear, and at its core featured that signature Rolex cool in its highly wearable 36mm Oyster case and ever-versatile and diverse dial options.
The ref. 16234 was among the first five-digit offerings within the Datejust family, and importantly one of the first to also use a sapphire crystal. First offered in the late 1980s until the mid-2000s, the 16234 made a number of notable improvements to the design family, including featuring the brand’s patented “jumping date,” which flipped over instantaneously at midnight rather than over the course of the last few hours, as was the case with previous Datejust iterations. Additionally, within the five-digit era, references starting with 162XX (like this one) can all be found with the newer caliber 3135, whereas 160XX references utilize the earlier caliber 3035 – a small detail to pay attention to.
As it was offered from the late ’80s to the mid-2000s, the ref. 16234 Datejust spans the switch at the Crown from tritium luminous material to LumiNova.

The Ref. 3539.50.00 is the legendary Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch but in a smaller “reduced” size of 39mm in diameter.
It boasts a similar aesthetic as its larger predecessors with a stainless steel finish, a multi-link bracelet, and black dial and Tachymeter bezel.
It also boasts a calibre 3220 self-winding movement with chronograph functions and a 40-hour power reserve.
The incredible 500-kilometer Tachymeter bezel and chronograph functions can be used by the wearer to calculate impressive speeds, making it a favourite among professional drivers.
Also referred to by avid collectors in-the-know as the Reduced II, the ref. 3539.50 features an improved design with a higher depth rating, a better clasp, and a cleaner dial.

Heuer Ref 12 – Small Heuer Shield – Circa 1979 – Original And Very Rare. Beautiful.

This is a stunning and extremely rare 1970’s Heuer Ref. 12. Featuring the superb and robust manual wind Valjoux 7734 movement.
The Ref.12 seems to have slipped under the Heuer radar due to the lack of information about it online. Another reason is that they weren’t sold in great numbers. Becoming very sought after.
What intrigued me about this particular model are the slight differences to that of other Ref. 12. Most notable is the Heuer shield, which is much smaller. Granted, the shield on the other example is oversized, so emphasises the difference. The lume dot markers are placed slightly differently too, being ‘on’ the ends of the hour markers not just ‘off’ them. I’ve seen another version of the Ref. 12 which had markings on the right hand subdial similar to that found on a Autavia, with three coloured arcs. I can only presume this is yet another Heuer oddity, during the same time period, the dive watch range went through similar changes. Almost as if Heuer were selling all the different designs until one was settled on.
Very rare to find in this condition. Any inspection welcome.

The Breitling Emergency was originally design for pilots and aircrews. It is a watch with a built-in micro-transmitter broadcasting on the 121.5 MHz aircraft emergency frequency and is designed to complement the distress signalling equipment of any aircraft. Following a crash the ‘Emergency’ will broadcast a signal on which rescuers can home in.
The transmitter is activated (for 48 hours) by unscrewing a protective cap and pulling the antenna out fully. Over flat terrain or calm seas, the transmitter signal has a range of about 160Km (assuming the search aircraft is flying at an altitude of 6000m).

Rolex Gmt-master – Ref: 16750 – Transition Model. Matte Dial. Ultra Rare. Exceptional.

In 1981 Rolex debuted the third GMT-Master, the ref. 16750. Considered a transitional reference, the GMT-Master 16750 was in production for less than a decade until about 1988. While it was very similar in style to its predecessor, the GMT-Master ref. 1675, the ref. 16750 did offer some technical improvements.
During its eight years of production, the Rolex GMT-Master ref. 16750 had two distinct dial variations within its steel case. The first generation had matte black dials with hour markers without white gold surrounds, while the later ones had glossy black dials with indexes that included the white gold surrounds.
A vintage GMT-Master ref. 16750 with the matte dials are actually very difficult to come by since they were often replaced with glossy ones during servicing. And naturally, because the matte dials lacking the white gold surrounds are rarer, they are indeed more coveted among the two versions.

The Rolex Submariner 16610 was released in 1988 and was powered by the brands longest serving movement, the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 with date located at the 3 o’clock position. The watch was originally fitted with black glossy dials with T25 tritium hour markers and hands. Tritium dials were eventually phased out in the late 90’s with watches being fitted with “SWISS” only dials in 1999. “SWISS MADE” dials were fitted from 2000 onward. These later dials featured Super-LumiNova filled hour marker and hands. Early Rolex Submariner 16610’s were fitted with the 93150 oyster bracelet with folding clasp. From 2000 the 93250 oyster bracelet was fitted to the Rolex Submariner 16610. The Rolex Submariner 16610 originally featured lug holes but there were deleted in 2003. Late examples of the Rolex Submariner 16610, from 2008, also feature the engraved inner rehaut displaying the serial number at the 6 o’clock position.
