of Rolex’s most distinct and high-end sport watch collections, the Yacht-Master has in its short history flown under the radar, along the way securing itself as one of the most underrated Rolex watches available today.
Here we have the first Yacht-Master in Rolesium – that is, platinum and steel – in the 1999-introduced ref. 16622. On the wrist – while somewhat weighty via its partial platinum construction – the watch wears more like a dress watch than a traditional sport watch. Measuring 40mm by 11.5mm, the watch sits low and tight on the wrist, with a curvy profile that more closely resembles the classic Rolex Oyster case design rather than the sharper “Super” profile found on most modern Submariners.
While familiar maybe in terms general design, the 16622 is nonetheless Rolex’s expression of a more refined luxury sport watch, as such including a platinum bi-directional bezel in addition to its stainless steel case, as well as a 100 meters water resistance and a screw-down crown protected by crown guards.
On the dial, a Maxi-style configuration is featured, complete with a white date aperture with a “Cyclops” magnifying lens, large hands and hour markers crafted from white gold, and some distinct color accenting unique to the Yacht-Master collection. Inside, the 16622 features the Rolex caliber 3135, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve, an incredibly reliable, chronometer-grade movement used extensively by the brand.

Launched in 1988 as the next generation of the professional-grade Rolex Sea-Dweller, the ref. 16600’s production run spanned twenty years, along the way solidifying itself as a bona fide classic in the history of the famed Crown.
Being one of the first watches from Rolex to use 904L steel in its construction, today known as Oystersteel, the 16600 in its 40mm by 14.5mm Oyster case features a wonderful weightiness and signature, action-ready sturdiness which has defined the Sea-Dweller collection from its 1967 origins. A unidirectional, black aluminum-insert bezel adds to the watch’s professional-grade credentials, as does a subtle helium escape valve opposite the screw-down crown.
On the dial, a highly-legible dial produced in Rolex’s distinct diver configuration is showcased, complete with a 3 o’clock date window, lume-filled hour markers and hands, and a deep black dial contrasting to it all. Worth noting is the 16600, like most Sea-Dwellers, does not feature a cyclops magnifier over the date, differentiating it from the rest of the Rolex’s catalog collection as a distinct signature for the collection.
Inside, the 16600 features the Rolex caliber 3135, an automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve, an incredibly reliable, chronometer-grade movement used extensively by the brand.. The caliber is protected via a solid case back that helps ensure a water resistance to 1,220 meters (4,000 feet), with the entire watch secured to the wrist via a 904L steel Oyster bracelet with a matching safety clasp to prevent accidental opening.

The “Swiss” dial positioned at 6 o’clock only had a short production from 1998 – 2000. This is because in 1998 tritium was banned due to the radioactivity it emitted. Rolex then converted their luminous hour markers into “Luminova” a non radio active lume.

One of the last tritium dials. Original and unpolished. All correct and matching. Coming increasingly desirable.
Introduced in the 1990’s and no longer in production, the stainless steel Rolex Submariner ref. 14060 is one of the last classically styled Submariner watches that sport an aluminum bezel rather than the new style Cerachrom ceramic bezel. As a dive watch, that bezel, marked to 60 units, is, of course, unidirectional rather than bidirectional. This is to prevent divers from overestimating how long they’ve been in the water for. If the watch gets knocked, the bezel will only turn in one direction to add more minutes rather than reduce them. Furthermore, to withstand underwater exploration, the Rolex Submariner ref. 14060 is water resistant to 300 meters (1,000 feet) thanks to the Oyster case construction, screw-down winding crown, and fluted caseback. Like all modern Rolex Submariner, the Sub ref. 14060 has a 40mm case.

The Rolex Submariner 16610 was released in 1988 and was powered by the brands longest serving movement, the automatic Rolex calibre 3135 with date located at the 3 o’clock position. The watch was originally fitted with black glossy dials with T25 tritium hour markers and hands. Tritium dials were eventually phased out in the late 90’s with watches being fitted with “SWISS” only dials in 1999. “SWISS MADE” dials were fitted from 2000 onward. These later dials featured Super-LumiNova filled hour marker and hands. Early Rolex Submariner 16610’s were fitted with the 93150 oyster bracelet with folding clasp. From 2000 the 93250 oyster bracelet was fitted to the Rolex Submariner 16610. The Rolex Submariner 16610 originally featured lug holes but there were deleted in 2003. Late examples of the Rolex Submariner 16610, from 2008, also feature the engraved inner rehaut displaying the serial number at the 6 o’clock position.

This OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch “Apollo XVII” is limited to 1,972 pieces and commemorates the 45th anniversary of the final moon landing in 1972.
The 42 mm stainless steel case features a polished blue ceramic bezel with its tachymeter scale in OMEGA Ceragold. The dial is also polished blue ceramic with 18K yellow gold indexes and hour-minute “Moon” hands that are coated in Super-LumiNova.
The subdial hands are 18K yellow gold or varnished matt white, and the central chronograph hand is also varnished white with a red tip.
“05:34 GMT” is printed in red indicating the time that Cernan made the final step on the moon, while the 9 o’clock subdial is distinguished by a representation of the God Apollo and the moon – etched in PVD in a chrome colour.The watch has a stainless steel bracelet and is driven by the iconic OMEGA calibre 1861. The caseback is engraved with “45th ANNIVERSARY”, “Limited Edition” and a unique number. It also has an embossed Apollo XVII patch, “APOLLO XVII” and “a tribute to Gene Cernan”.

The Rolex 116900 is the iconic Air-King in updated form. The modern wristwatch includes a larger 40mm case size and a brand new dial topped with Arabic hour markers and sporty Mercedes hands. Collectors in-the-know might recall the difference between the ref. 116900 and the original 34mm Air-King, the latter of which is much more modest in design and more inline with a traditional dress watch. The ref. 116900 is more reminiscent of a professional series watch with the Mercedes hands on the dial and the larger size of the case. The ref. 116900 is notably presented in all Oystersteel and includes a chronometer-rated cal. 3131 Perpetual movement. The edition that you see here today also features desirable Chromalight plots on the dial and stunning green accents.
