TAG HEUER. INCABLOC. HEUER “French made” racing. MADE IN FRANCE.
MANUAL WINDING.
CIRCA LATE 1970’s.
MODEL: 1611.
Gents watch. 38mm.
Here we have an interesting Heuer chronograph from the late 1970s. The dial and case are both marked “Made in France.”
These were made by Monnin, just like the reference 844 dive watch. This model is powered by a Valjoux 7765 and features a quick-set date which makes setting the watch a dream.
The tonneau-shaped case features “open style” lugs that also make changing straps very easy. Another great feature of the dial is the teardrop-shaped register hands and the subsidiary dial design.
The orange luminous hands really contrast against the non-luminous dial for maximum legibility.
When this model was featured in the Heuer 1978-79 catalog, the original price was 230 Francs.
This is a good opportunity to get an interesting Heuer that was made in France.
